Mark Phillips
10am - 2pm
Hi! Thanks for stopping by my corner of the Carolina Country website. I’m proud to be the latest addition to the team and love keeping you company during the workday.
Some things about me that I hope won’t bore you:
How long have you been on the radio?
I started on the radio at age 14 at my hometown station in Iowa. Since then, I’ve had stops in Illinois, Florida and Texas. I also took a three year break and was a Field Artillery Officer in the Army at Ft. Sill, OK. That may explain why I’m always saying “Huh, can you repeat that?”
Do you listen to Country Music when you’re not working?
Yes, I grew up on Country Music and love the older stars along with today’s artists. That’s why working at Carolina Country is so much fun! I love to talk. I love Country Music. It’s a win-win all the way around.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love most sports and my favorite is NASCAR and in case you’re wondering, Kevin Harvick is my favorite driver. I’m also a marathon runner and usually get up before daylight to run a few miles before I start the day.
The thing I enjoy most is spending time with my wife and our young son. He is 8 years old and never seems to run out of energy! My wife and I homeschool him which takes a couple hours out of my day but it’s worth it. We also have two dogs, a Border Collie named Buddy and a crazy Chihuahua named Boomer who thinks he’s a Great Dane.
I hope you’ll join me during the workday from 10a-2p Monday thru Saturday. I’m very happy to be here and look forward to our time together on Carolina Country!

Sweet Tea
2pm - 6pm
She's as refreshing as an ice-cold glass of sweet tea on a southern summer afternoon--she's Sweet Tea...heard afternoons right here on Carolina Country! Born the daughter of poor sharecroppers in Greenville, South Carolina, Sweet Tea first whistled "Dixie" at the tender age of two and then learned to speak Southern-ese. She received the finest education money could buy at the Hickory Tavern Elementary School, where she received A grades in coloring and English as a Second Language. During high school, she was crowned Miss South Carolina Peach Queen and surveyed her realm from the top of the Gaffney Peach Water Tower along I-85 that was made famous in the House of Cards TV show. After high school, Sweet Tea majored in Pom-Poms in college and now entertains YOU every afternoon right here on Carolina Country!
When not on the air, Sweet Tea works as the Director of Fun for Andrulonis Media, making sure that everybody is having fun. In her free time, Sweet Tea gigs catfish (served pecan-crusted), shops from the Lilly Pulitzer catalog, and practices making her sneezes more polite. A little Sweet Tea solves every problem the world has ever known!
